Olive Goil: Dana-Maxx

Olive Oyl recently sat down with fashion designer Dana-Maxx Pomerantz to discuss two of her favorite topics: fashion and Hollywood glamour! Dana-Maxx launched her eponymous line of women’s contemporary ready-to-wear clothing in 2007. Praised for its architectural silhouettes, rich pops of color and distinct use of materials, the line is beloved by chic, strong, edgy, feminine women. Naturally, Olive had to meet her!

Olive: With Hollywood being deep into awards season, it’s a great time for designers to get their fashions in the forefront of the masses. What was your favorite dress from this year’s Golden Globes Awards Show?

Dana-Maxx: My favorite dress was definitely Kate Hudson wearing Alexander McQueen. It was unique, sexy and fit her body beautifully. Plus, she looked comfortable in it!

Olive: Kate did look stunning! I loved that dress too. Which designers, in your professional opinion, absolutely nailed it?

Dana-Maxx: Reem Acra, Marchesa and Calvin Klein are the ones who consistently get it right.

Olive: Who would you say was the evening’s fashion misses and mistakes?

Dana-Maxx: I really did not like the way Lucy Liu, Michelle Dockery, Jennifer Lopez, and Lena Dunham were dressed. These are absolutely beautiful, talented women who just looked like they were trying way too hard. Be yourself, girls!

Olive: Which trends did you see that you would incorporate into your own collection?

Dana-Maxx: Lace was a HUGE trend at this red carpet! I personally like incorporating lace into my collections because it’s a fabric that exudes luxury, style, and romance and looks beautiful on most women.

Olive: Were there any favorite shoes or hairstyles that stood out to you?

Dana-Maxx: A lot of the women had their hair down and in this old Hollywood, side part, ringlet look. I really liked the way Amy Adams put a fresh spin on such a classic look.

Olive: Head to toe, who, in your opinion, was the best-dressed celebrity of the night?

Dana-Maxx: I really loved Kate Hudson and Robert Pattinson. I think they looked like true Hollywood stars. Their looks were effortless yet chic and well put together. Just fabulous!

Olive: Speaking of fabulous, your Spring 2013 collection is amazing. Mind if I give my sweet friends a sneak peek?

Dana-Maxx: Absolutely! I would be honored.
