Today is National Wear Red Day!

Today is National Wear Red Day®, a day of action to show support for women and heart disease awareness and promote the Red Dress as a national symbol. On the first Friday in February each year, women and men across the country unite in the national movement to give women a personal and urgent wake up call about their risk of heart disease.

Heart disease is the No. 1 killer of American women over the age of 25. In fact, one of every three women dies of heart disease, and a woman suffers a heart attack every 90 seconds in the United States. Every woman should know her risk for heart disease. Early diagnosis is key, and that’s why it is very important to know your risk.

I’m participating today in National Wear Red Day by showing off my favorite red dress!

Join me in wearing red today and visit The Heart Truth to learn more about your risk for heart disease.
