I recently discovered the beautiful jewelry line, KiraKira, which was created by designer and founder, Suz Somersall in 2007. Ms. Somersall studied jewelry and metal smithing in Italy and Japan. In 2011, Suz moved to New York City, where she partnered with Whitney Blake to grow the company into what it is today.

As graduates of the United States Military Academy at West Point, Ashley Jung and Paige Dellavalle were educated in the value of sacrifice, dedication, tenacity and persistence. Related by blood and not afraid to break a sweat, long days and late nights are nothing new for these two sisters who dreamed of careers in fashion while growing up in a small country town in Ringoes, New Jersey. Their education and military training were put to good use when they hung up their combat fatigues and co-founded their jewelry line, stella valle, in 2009. This fashion-forward line of bold statement jewelry, with its strong lines and geometric metalwork, is inspired by and designed for strong, creative women who chart their own path, lead their own lives and create their own story.

Olive Live: Advice to Class of 2013 from Fern Mallis

Fashion industry executive Fern Mallis was the keynote speaker when the Fashion Institute of Technology (FIT), a college of the State University of New York system, held its 68th commencement exercises this morning at Javits Center North. More than 1,700 students were in attendance, receiving Associate, Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees.

Mallis addressed the graduates at the commencement exercises held at 10:30 am for students in FIT’s Jay and Patty Baker School of Business and Technology and the School of Liberal Arts. She also deservedly received a rare honor at FIT Commencement, the President’s Lifetime Achievement Award.
