Olive Loves: FNO Outfits

Okay folks, tomorrow is the big, big day!

I have a few more options for outfits to run by you, all culled from some of the fabulous designers who will be participating alongside me at the FNO event.  I need all my friends out there to help me decide what I should be sporting as host!

Shall it be the “Kate” blouse from Spoon, perhaps? In midnight black with the laser cut-out detailing? Ooh, so slinky and simple and luxe! Maybe I should match this elegant blouse with a classic pair of gold and pearl earrings from BB Jewels?

Top it off with a vibrant red python clutch from Primary NY? Or what about Primary NY’s “Kelly” dress in coral? Maybe to start the evening, then a costume change?

Oh my, it’s very overwhelming folks, to have this much gorgeousness to choose from.

As you might have noticed – yes, yes, yes! I am getting so very, very excited to play dress up and cavort about high in the sky with the beautiful people of the Big Apple.

Stay tuned for more…

Olive Loves: FNO Designer Selects

The big day is drawing near my dears and I am all in tizzy trying to decide what a gal should wear to this fabulous event. As you know, I am playing host to a very special Fashion Night Out evening and all eyes, ( well, most eyes, anyway…or at least a few eyes), will be on me.

So what’s a girl to wear?

Well, here’s the thing. I have the distinct pleasure of sharing hosting duties alongside some supremely talented designers, all of whom make the most lovely clothes and accessories, an array of items that would be absolute perfection to showcase at the event.

So what do you think readers? What shall is be?

A stunning dress from Dana Maxx, it’s red hot, racy shade offset but the sweetest white lace collar? Perhaps I could match that elegant ensemble with a stunning black and white lizard skin clutch from Michelle Vale?

Or should I go streetwear and edgy and stand out from the crowds, with a sassy pair of Ashley Arrow leggings from Brit NYC under a Boy Meets Girl Expedition Utility Dress?

Decisions, decisions, decisions….

Stay tuned, my dears, for more options. I’m going to need your help!

Olive Goil: Nanette Lepore

“The fashion district is facing extinction, and small factories are being lost to developers and without the Garment District, young designers cannot get their start in New York City.”

Listen up readers, that is the forceful voice of today’s Olive Goil, the designer Nanette Lepore. Miss L. is a gal that can make a dress that takes your breath away, craft a pair of dazzling high heels and in the process, stand up for the rights of the hard-working folks who make the America fashion industry move and shake.

Miss Lepore is one of the wonderful spokeswomen of “Save the Garment Center”, a trade association “devoted to promoting New York’s Garment District, and the fashion companies or brands who use it.”

It is also one of the main focuses of this year’s Fashion Night Out, a very special series of fashion hooplas, where I will be attending (and hosting my dears!) a series of wonderful events.

All I have to say, is hooray, hoorah and huzzah – for beautifully crafted, precisely made, totally gorgeous clothing, hailing from the U.S. of A!

Oh, and how could I forget, today’s Goil, the lovely Miss Lepore, is also the creator of some of my most very favorite fun, flirty and feminine fashions. I just took a look at her fall line, and my darlings… I have died and gone to clotheshorse heaven!!

Olive Loves: Fashion Night Out

My dearest, darling readers.

As you know, I adore fashion.  Simply, utterly, overwhelmingly –  adore it.

In fact, I would go as far to say that dressing up and looking divine is one of life’s great pleasures. That is why I am over the moon, sweet friends, to announce that I have been asked to co-host a fabulous Fashion Night Out event, a grand and amazing evening of talented designers, sublime musical entertainment, and all the brightest and the best lights of New York City!  And all in the name of promoting the wonderful clothing and people of the city’s famous Garment District!

That’s right! We are going to have ourselves a ball, all in the name of keeping U.S. designers, American-made. Factories, suppliers, young talent – all of them need our support in making sure the Garment District keeps on keeping on in creating the highest quality clothing for gals like me to don, for events like this.

Take a look at the invite below and be amazed at the gathering of talent.

Am I nervous?

Yes.

Am I excited?

Yes.

Am I honored?

Truly.

I will be sure to keep you all in the loop on the star-studded, perfectly coiffed, fabulously dressed – days and night to come…
