Live Olive: Rock The Boat

Ahoy my adventurous shipmates! Come aboard this grand vessel called the Internet and join me for a high seas adventure!?

As you all know, I am very at home on the waves, hoisting the sails and gunning the engines and swabbing the decks too. It’s no mistake that I am in love with a sailor man, as boats, and all that goes with them, is in my very blood.

I am a seaside gal, after all.

That’s why these styles, which I am so pleased to don today, really hit me close to the heart. My dears, behold Olive Looks! An array of sweet dockside beauties that provide the perfect pairings for sand, salt, and of course – ships of all sorts!

Tugs, cruise liners, sailboats and canoes, no matter! These fashions look great anywhere.

From the deep black military-inspired blouse, replete with  flowy, “good ship lollipop” innocence, to the linen culottes, this is my fav outfit to date.

Just the thing to go from dockside to dinner, the perfect late July ensemble! Add a vintage black leather tote and classic boat shoes  and you’ve got style fit for shopping, summering and stowing away!

Olive Loves: Mark Fast Sandstorm Crocheted Dress

There are dresses… and then there are dresses that absolutely thrill – gorgeous, sumptuous numbers, that once donned, will make a gal feel like a queen.

This utterly amazing golden crocheted dress by designer Mark Fast is one of the latter – a stunning, shimmering, gilded wonder that makes me just swoon each time I look at it.

Imagine wearing this at a dark and smoky speakeasy or on the nightclub stage or out on the town – flapping the fringe and showing some leg and kicking up your heels like the dance floor darling you are!

Mr. Fast is a Canadian boy done good in London, England, a tremendously talented gent who designs clothes for fabulous folks like Rhianna and such. But  even if you are not a pop star my dears, you can at least look like one, (and be one in your own mind!) when you’re wearing a dress like this.

Wow!  Just – wow.

Olive Live: Candy Striped for 4th of July

Hoorah!

It is that time of year again –  the perfect moment for backyard burgers and hot summer bonfires and downtown parades and sailing the high seas and fishing the wharf dock and lounging by the lake and catching fireflies and camping and cavorting and in general – grabbing the season for all it’s got!

I have just the ensemble for any one of these adventures and more, whether you’re boarding the yacht, or making S’mores!

First – a sweet scarf, then flirty navy blue Capri pants (in honor of my sailor man)… and add some stripes galore! Red and white is just the thing for seaside rendezvous and firework Fourth of July picnics.  Top it all off with a pair of sassy espadrilles and you are all set for those unforgettable months between June and September, when the skies are blue and the days are long and the nights are full of promise!

Happy summer dear readers and a fashionable salute to all of you celebrating Independence Day in the U.S. of A!

Olive Goil: Leana Zuniga of Electric Feathers

Fashion is about digging deep down straight into your imagination my dears and no one explores like Miss Leana Zuniga of the clothing line, Electric Feathers.

With her raw silk convertible dresses, drop-dead gorgeous hand-dyed flowing and flirty cotton skirts, elegant jump suits, and billowing harem pants – Zuniga’s clothes are meant for both high style and rollicking adventure.
